Put this on your Holiday wish list

Before long the folks who love you will be wondering what to get you for the holidays. Being an avid knitter I always thought it was fairly simple to come up with a great gift idea for me. And yet, my family seemed to struggle with it every year. If your family has the same difficulty I have a suggestion. Picture yourself relaxing and knitting among friends, settled before a toasty fire, away from the demands of home and spoiled by great food and the ambiance of charming 1700's era home located on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Now imagine all of that as the doldrums of January and February settle in. I don't have to imagine it because I have been attending the annual knitting weekend for the last ten years. This fabulous retreat is coordinated by the ladies of the Lambs Wool and the proprietors of the Mitchell House, a lovely Bed and Breakfast in Tolchester, Maryland. The fee for the weekend includes accomodations, a wine and cheese reception, Friday night dinner, breakfast Sunday and Sunday mornings, snacks during the day, a variety of classes and plenty of time to just sit, knit and bond with your fellow house mates.
The 2011 retreat is offered three different weekends. January 21st, 22nd & 23rd
February 4th, 5th and 6th and February 25th, 26th and 27th. The cost is $260.00 for a single, $240.00 for a double and $215.00 for a triple. Contact the shop for information on availablity for the weekend you're interested in.
Trust me this gift is way better than any body wash sampler or pair of slippers I have ever gotten for Christmas.
